MMK Trading House posts record-breaking sales

MMK Trading House, a part of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works ("MMK") Group, reports sales of 840,000 tonnes of products for the first eight months of 2017, up 14% year-on-year.

In August 2017, the company set a new record in monthly sales – shipping more than 145,000 tonnes of metal, metalware, and profiled metal. Warehouse sales grew thanks to optimised warehouse logistics and increase in sales to end customers.

Strong results were in particular demonstrated by the company’s production facility in Schelkovo (Moscow Region), which produces profiled flooring, siding, and metal tiles. In the first eight months of 2017, this facility sold approximately 46,000 tonnes of profiled metal, up 10% year-on-year.

Sales of high-tensile steel produced by PJSC MMK under MAGSTRONG brand increased by six times. This steel is characterized by high resistance against abrasive wear, impact hardness, good welding properties and workability, which makes it possible to increase the life cycle of products produced from this metal. In the first eight months of 2017, MMK Trading House shipped approximately 900 tonnes of MAGSTRONG metal to Russian and international customers.

MMK Trading House is one of the largest metal sellers in Russia. It sells metal produced by PJSC MMK through its own distribution network comprising 27 regional offices in Russia and four warehouse facilities in Kazakhstan. Twice in the past two years, MMK Trading House was recognized as the winner at distribution networks awards in The Best Distribution Network by Growth Rate nomination organized by the Russian Metal Suppliers Union.
