Vyksa Steel Works expanded tube output by 36%
Vyksa Steel Works (VSW, part of United Metallurgical Company, OMK produced over 1.1 million tons of pipes in the first half of 2015 which is up 36% against a similar period last year. The production of wheels is down 40% against the first half of 2014 and amounted to 142,000 items.

“Owing to OMK’s investments into developing VSW, the factory’s pipe production capacity is growing. In the first half of the year, we supplied pipes to OMK’s strategic partners, which are the largest domestic oil and gas companies. In particular, deliveries were made for such projects as Bovanenkovo-Ukhta, Power of Siberia, Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean, Southern Corridor and others,” said Alexander Barykov, VSW’s Managing Director. “The fall in wheel production is explained by the increasing dumping of supplies from Ukrainian manufacturers against the background of declining demand for railway wheels in Russia.”
