NLMK TO SUPPLY PRE-PAINTED STEEL FOR SAMSUNG WHITE GOODS PRODUCTION IN KALUGA

NLMK Group, a leading producer of steel and high-value added rolled products in Russia, has commenced supplies of pre-painted steel for production of ’white goods‘ by Korean conglomerate Samsung at their facility in Kaluga region.

NLMK is entering the niche segment of the Russian pre-painted steel market with a new premium product that formerly was supplied exclusively by foreign manufacturers. This product was developed specifically for Samsung’s ‘white goods‘ production. NLMK steel high cold stamping features a smooth polyether finish and a polyurethane coating on the underside with a high resistance to corrosion for use in demanding environments.

Tests, performed jointly with Samsung, have confirmed that NLMK’s steel is fully compliant with requirements, both in terms of features such as colour and appearance; mechanical and other qualities; and in terms of its environmental safety.
