Danieli to build plant in Russia

The plant should be launched by May 2013. The facilities will include up to 40,000 sqm of workshops, providing a total of 1,200 new jobs. The production program will include: engineering of rolling mills, continuous casting plants for semi-finished products, electric ovens and systems for the direct reduction of iron, The supply program will mainly include Russian steel foundries, steel rolling and engineering companies.

This project is a revolutionary event, for so far no major world player in the steel industry equipment market has ever considered locating their facilities in Russia. Other global players including SMS Group are expected to assess the Russian market with major projects as well.
