Norilsk Nickel arctic tanker passes sea trials
OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, informs that ice-class ARC7 Yenisey tanker passed through sea trials in Wismar (Germany) last week. The trials made it possible to test the performance of vessel’s devices and equipment. The tanker is being built as part of the Company’s own arctic fleet development.
According to Sergey Buzov, Deputy General Director of the Company and Head of Transport and Logistics Department, the trials were predictably successful. MMC Norilsk Nickel’s Fleet Construction Surveillance Team shall use the trials’ results to analyze the correspondence of actual indicators to contract indicators. On Monday, August 29, the tanker shall proceed to Norwegian shores, where the Bollard Pull test is to take place.
The tanker shall be finished and commissioned in the end of third quarter, 2011.
