Vadim Makhov appointed as OMZ General Director
OMZ Group Board of Directors has appointed Vadim Makhov as the General Director of OMZ.
“We are happy that Vadim Makhov has accepted the Board’s offer to become the head of the company. OMZ is entering a very important stage of its development: the Group’s companies have taken leading positions in their core fields, order backlog is being expanded and diversified, production capacities are being upgraded, various social programs are underway and significant steps are being made to develop engineering practices in general. – said Farid Kantserov, OMZ Group Chairman of the Board and Gazprombank Deputy Chairman. – Vadim Makhov faces the challenge to bring a new dynamic in the Group’s development based on competitive and innovative products and to bring the company into international markets.”
Since 2009 Vadim Makhov is a professor of the Moscow Business School in Skolkovo and is an author of the “Innovations” course.
Vadim Makhov was born in 1972 in Cherepovets (Vologda region). In 1994 he graduated from the Orjonikidze State Management Academy with honors, followed by a PhD degree in economics in 1999 and an MBA diploma from the Northumbria University (Newcastle, UK) in 2000.
From February 1994 to June 2009 Vadim Makhov worked at Severstal, advancing from deputy head of the economic research laboratory to deputy general director on strategy and obtaining valuable practical experience.
