Izhorskiye Zavody manufacture equipment for Novovoronezh NPP-2

On November 30 2010 facilities 33 and 34 of Izhorskiye Zavody have successfully completed the acceptance tests of the reactor unit equipment manufactured for the first unit of Novovoronezh NPP-2, including: reactor vessel, upper unit and four casings of the main circulation pump.

Acceptance tests were conducted by the committee comprising representatives of OAO Rosenergoatom (Novovoronezh NPP-2 branch), OAO Atomenergoproekt, OAO Direktsiya Edinogo Zakazchika, OAO TsKBM, FGUP VO Bezopasnost, OKB Gidropress. The tests have confirmed the equipment’s conformity to the requirements outlined in the design documentation and to nuclear energy rules and regulations.

It should be noted that the manufactured units are among the key equipment of the AES-2006 reactor. It is the first system in a series of planned projects. Completion of the manufacturing process allows to start the assembly of the AES-2006 head reactor unit, using the earlier produced inner tube, protective pipe unit, reflection shield and the pressure compensator.
