EVRAZ plans on doubling pitch coke production at Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works

According to Ural, regional center for corporate relations Evraz Group plans on increasing production of pitch coke at Nizny Tagil Iron and Steel Works almost twice to 4.5 ths tons a month. As part of the project, a general overhaul of the second furnace plant is planned for 2010. Reportedly, since 2010 this product will be produced not only for sale, but also for the needs of furnace plant of the works. Today its main consumers are Irkutsk and Bogoslovsk Smelters.
