OMZ Special Steels Receives Det Norske Veritas Certificatation

OMZ-SpecStal (St.-Petersburg), a part of OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) has received an Approval Certificate from Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a Norwegian classification organization, for the production of carbon, carbon-manganiferous and low-alloyed steel forgings. The certification for forgings specifies a maximum weight of 230 tons. The certificate is valid until 30 June, 2012.

Det Norske Veritas is world-renowned classification organization, a member of International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), enforcing high quality standards in the shipbuilding industry.

The certificate received by OMZ Special Steels confirms the high quality of OMZ Special Steels products developed for the shipbuilding industry. It allows the company to collaborate successfully with domestic and international shipbuilding companies.

OMZ Special Steels' products have also been certified by a number of other classification organizations and members of IACS, including the Russian Maritime Navigation Register (RMNR), Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR, UK), Germanischer Lloyd (GL, Germany), Bureau Veritas (BV, France), the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS, USA), Registro Italiano Navale (RINA, Italy), and Russian River Register (RRR).
